Terpsichore
Named after the muse of dance from Greek mythology, Terpsichore is a centre for dance and movement with a history of over 20 years. Its website is an information hub for its hundreds of members.
The site's first iteration was one of the first css sites I ever coded so I have long-standing relationship with the centre. A few years ago it was redesigned and moved over to ExpressionEngine. Current artistic and general director Kathy Van Den Bergh wanted a more hands-on role so the site was set up so she could edit the entire site herself.
One of the challenges was making the html tables used for the school's schedule user-editable. I used FF Matrix to power all schedules on the site so the end user is looking at a friendly interface, while the html code on the site remains clean and accessible.
Another request was tools to manage a huge amount of photographs (taken at classes and performances) for a photogallery. To this end a Slideshowpro Director install was integrated in the existing ExpressionEngine setup. This give Kathy all the tools she need to bulk upload images, arrange these into albums, tag and watermark them etc...
